• Vintage B&L Pre Ray-Ban AN6531 Sunglasses

    Up for sale are these pair of Bausch & Lomb Aviators. The 1st pilot Aviators developed for the US Army and Navy. The AN6531 is the model which Ray-Ban used to design the classic Ray-Ban Aviator.

     

    They are the silver nickel frame variant with RB2 green lenses. Pearl coloured sweat bar, bakelite nosepads and cable temples with  pearl coloured covers.

     

    A true vintage, historic piece which dates back to the 1930s/40s.

     

    Included with these sunglasses are the original issue aluminium case with Bausch & Lomb logo indicative of the era. The interior has cream felt and is initialled W.F. Brewer.

     

    Captain W.F Brewer was the commanding officer of the USS Wasp which is a United States Navy multipurpose amphibious assault ship. 

     
    Approx. 148mm wide from hinge to hinge.
     
    Markings present, which includes stamp to the bottom of the brow bar. The frame is in super condition. The cable temples are straight, tight an true.
     
    The 65mm sized lenses are non-etched and are in overall excellent condition. Both lenses do have very light marks, but none affect vision in any way, shape or form.
     
    For their age this is a super example for both end user and collector.
